What is Avéli™ Cellulite Treatment?
Avéli™ is a device designed to provide long-term reductions in the appearance of cellulite on the body, typically on the buttocks, thighs, or abdomen. Intended to be a one-time treatment, Avéli™ is inserted through a small incision in the skin. The device is used to slice the septa within the intended area, or connective fibrous bands, to lift skin upward and provide a more seamless, smooth appearance. The device is designed to be incredibly precise, and it also allows surgeons and practitioners to receive verification that the septa have been effectively severed. Patients with good skin elasticity are best suited for this procedure.

Avéli™ Cellulite Treatment Procedure
A local anesthetic will be administered to minimize pain or discomfort. The procedure can be performed in the office with local anesthesia or in the operating room with general anesthesia depending on patient preference. Several small incisions are made in the affected area. A hook-shaped device is inserted through the incision, which releases an ultra-small blade to sever the septa that is pulling the skin downward and creating the dimpling effect. This treatment can also be done in conjunction with liposuction or other surgical procedures.
Avéli™ Cellulite Treatment Recovery and Aftercare
Patients can return home on the day of the procedure. Minimal downtime is required, but patients may experience (remove minor) discomfort, soreness, and bruising for a brief period after the procedure. Optimal results are typically visible within a month. Temporary symptoms can be relieved with an ice pack or over-the-counter medication and in occasional cases narcotics are required. A light compression garment will be recommended. Dr. Aya-ay and her staff will review the postoperative instructions with you at your consultation and again at your preoperative visit to ensure that you are comfortable with your postoperative care.
